- I have an NEC CDR BJ25 I believe it is called, external SCSI 1x
- CD ROM drive. I just want it to get info off of cds and maybe
- play audio cds. When I connect it to my A3000 I get the lovely
- 3.1 insert kickstart disk anim and nothing happens. If I
- unplug it and reboot I get SCSI bus errors when I plug it back
- in. Any read on the SCSI bus then causes an error! It does
- this even if the CDROM is turned off and does not have its
- power cable attached!!
-
- I have heard that in rare cases the A3000 motherboard is
- terminated?? And that I must remove that termination and
- terminate the drive? I lookied for about 1/2 hour and could
- find no such thing (and man is the A3000 hard to work with !
- You have to take apart the whole bloody thing just to get to
- the motherboard! How can I terminate the CDROM drive? I have
- tried the jumpers. Some one on irc mentioned some type of
- physical terminator thing, and on Aminet someone mentions the
- same (I did a search for 3000) but using cheap capacitors...
- I'm no electronics whiz. I just want this thing to work!!
-
- Otherwise, who knows of a cheap IDE solution for th eA3000?
